Dosage
2-3 capsules daily preferably with meals or as directed by a health care practitioner. Keep out of the reach of children. Do not take if allergic to soy.
Contraindications
- Theoretically, because the soy isoflavones occupy estrogen receptors and are capable of producing anti-estrogen effects.
- The use of soy isoflavones supplements at higher dosages (e.g. greater than 120 mg per day) is not recommended in women taking birth control pills or other sources of estrogen (e.g. Premarin®).
- Isoflavones are not recommended for persons with soy allergies as they could react to the soy protein component in the isoflavone product.
Additional Information
Children: There does not appear to be any suitable use for soy isoflavones in children at this time.
