Lycopene 10 mg is pure lycopene derived from selected ripe, organically grown tomatoes. The tomato oleoresin contains 6% lycopene in addition to other natural compounds found in the tomato, such as natural tocopherols.
Lycopene, the carotenoid that gives tomatoes and berries their red colour, is likely the protective factor. It quenches singlet oxygen (a highly aggressive and unstable oxygen molecule that does much damage as it steals electrons from other molecules) even more efficiently than beta carotene and vitamin E.
