Features
Silymarin is one of the isolated active ingredients extracted from Milk Thistle seeds (Silybum marianum). It is a flavonoid long recognized for its ability to help some people with liver disorders and as a protective compound against liver-damaging agents such as alcohol.
In clinical tests this flavonoid has demonstrated good antioxidant properties. These findings indicated that Silymarin increases the content of liver glutathione (GSH), as effect not known with other closely related flavonoids. The test also showed an increase in glutathione content within the intestine and stomach. The effects selectively occurred only in the digestive tract and not in the kidney, lung and spleen which has proven the "old wives tale" that folklore has told us that Milk Thistle acts most directly to protect the liver.

Dosage
1 capsule 3 times per day with a meal.
